Born in Kerkyra (Corfu). Studied Medicine and completed a PhD thesis at the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens. Specialized in Cardio-Thoracic Surgery in big hospitals in Athens and had postgraduate training in Germany and UK. Working since 1999 as a Consultant Paediatric Cardio-Thoracic Surgeon and Head of the 1st Department of Cardio-Thoracic Surgery at “AGHIA SOPHIA” Children’s Hospital in Athens. Ex-founding member of the NGOs “Medecins du Monde – Greece” and “Medical Intervention” aiming for the care of refugees at hotspots and unaccompanied non-adult migrants.
