Effrosini Vlachioti is a Nurse, a graduate of the Department of Nursing at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens since 2004. She holds both a Master’s and a PhD degree from the same Department and has held the Pediatric Nursing Specialty since 1997. In 2006, she received further training at St George’s Hospital in London in the Pediatric Clinic and the Pediatric Emergency Department. Her doctoral dissertation, awarded in 2014, focused on: The quality of life of children and adolescents with cancer during and after treatment. She also holds a Master’s degree from the National School of Public Health with a specialization in Health Services Management.
She has a total of 35 years of professional experience, and since 2020 she has held the position of Director of the Nursing Service. From 2018 to 2022, she served as an Academic Fellow in Pediatric Nursing at the Department of Nursing, at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Since 2022, she has been a member of the National Nursing Development Council. Additionally, since 08/12/2021, she has been the Coordinator for the Pediatric Nursing Specialty for the three Educational Centers of the 1st Regional Health Authority (1st RHA) of Attica, and since 09/02/2022, a member of the Tripartite Educational Council for this specialty.
Since 2005, and particularly after completing her PhD, Dr. Vlachioti has maintained significant teaching activity in both postgraduate and undergraduate programs at the Department of Nursing, NKUA, over several years. She has a strong international presence, as reflected in her scientific output, including a total of 55 publications (articles, abstracts in conference proceedings, book chapters, etc.) in both international and Greek journals, as well as in the recognition of her work through numerous citations. All her publications are directly related to Pediatric Nursing, and she has actively participated in numerous national and international conferences, serving as a Chair or Member of Organizing or Scientific Committees, and often as an invited speaker.
